Kristin Fisher is an Emmy Award-winning correspondent who currently freelances for ABC News and WUSA (CBS) in Washington, D.C.  She also produces, films, and edits several of her own stories.

Kristin joined WUSA in 2009 after freelancing for Current TV and working at network affiliates in Grand Junction, Colorado, and Little Rock, Arkansas.  She’s covered everything from space to politics, including the shooting at the Washington Navy Yard, Hillary Clinton’s 2008 presidential campaign, the Inaugurations of Barack Obama, seven Space Shuttle launches, and Hurricane’s Irene and Sandy.  In 2010, she won an Emmy for her bi-weekly segments on heroes in the greater Washington community.

Kristin grew up in Houston, Texas as the daughter of two NASA astronauts.  While she clearly failed to inherit the astronaut gene, she shares in their desire to explore and explain our world.  Kristin has lived in both London and Athens.  She’s also lived outside for three months on an Alaskan glacier, and summited Mount Rainier, Mount Shasta, and Mount Olympus.  She is a graduate of Boston University’s College of Communication.
